Why Choose Front Range Helicopters?
Your success is our success!
- Front Range Helicopters (FRH) was the first independent FAR Part 141 Helicopter Flight School on the Front Range of Colorado.
- We offer a complete line of Courses from Private Pilot to Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument. Turbine transitions and Mountain Flying Courses are also available.
- Our association with Aims Community College allows students the option of completing an Associates Degree in Aviation Science with access to student loan programs and the Veteran's GI Bill.
- We also offer our courses under FAR Part 61 to accommodate all students.
- Our state of the art FAA approved FLYIT Simulator flies like the real thing and will allow you to learn faster, at less cost. It also limits the impact of bad weather on your training.
- One-on-One training from instructors and staff who care. FRH goes beyond simply qualifying you for a check ride. We teach you to understand helicopter performance and be a smarter, safer helicopter pilot.
- We have our aircraft maintained at Century Helicopters, an excellent and fully certified Schweizer and Bell Helicopter service center.
- Our instructors are dedicated to your success. Our staff will always take that extra step to improve your performance and ensure your training dollars are well spent.
- Our instructors have decades of experience flying in the Rocky Mountain Region with real world experience in commercial flight operations. We know that the job market demands precision, excellence, and safety with a positive attitude and that is how we train.
- We keep you in the loop on weather and maintenance schedules so you don’t waste time driving to the airport to find the aircraft you scheduled is down for maintenance or the predicted weather would preclude flying.
- We now offer the best of both worlds. Train at KFNL (a non-towered airport) or KBJC (a towered airport).
- Training starts at 5000 feet or more elevation so learning in a high altitude environment is an everyday experience. Located at the base of the Front Range, mountain and remote site training is readily available.
- KNFL is a non-towered airport so we can concentrate on helicopter training the minute we leave the ground.
- KBJC is a towered airport providing an excellent introduction to operating in controlled airspace in the Denver metro area.
- FRH has dedicated practice areas at both locations to facilitate your training at the airport.
- FRH does not ask for HUGE non-refundable payments up front.
- Our hourly rate is the total you pay for flight time. It includes the instructor’s fee, fuel, and pre/post flight briefings. Other schools charge for the aircraft and instructor separately.
- Programs based on the most efficient use of your time and money. We do not feature gimmicks and unrealistic promotions. Given your finances and schedule, we give you honest estimates on completion.
- We do not push you into flying more expensive aircraft just because we have them. We primarily use Schweizer 300C helicopters which are the safest and most cost-effective training helicopters at this altitude. When you are ready to fly a turbine helicopter, we have that too.
- We have an excellent success rate. Solid business principles, better total costs, integrity, and customer service are why we are Colorado's best helicopter flight training experience.
